Navigating Perimenopause

Navigating Perimenopause: My Experience

Many women face a time in their lives when their emotions are heightened, concentration is challenging, patience wears thin, and their bodies undergo changes. In 2022, I noticed the first signs of perimenopause and was determined to manage it naturally.

Initially, my only symptom was intense night time hot flushes during my period. The hot flushes disappeared for eight months and then returned. I turned to my friend's advice once again, and they again disappeared.

However, in late August 2023, I began an emotional rollercoaster. Focus became difficult, and my menstrual cycle became unpredictable. This was entirely new for both me and my long-time husband. He remarked, 'You've never been like this before.' I just wanted to cry a lot of the time, this was really challenging for me and everyone in my house and it was time to review the natural path I was taking as it needed adapting to keep up with the changes that were happening to me.

After discussing my situation with colleagues, I made some simple adjustments to my routine, which improved my situation within 48 hours. Honestly it was really quick and I started to feel so much better, less emotional and felt I could focus again.

The latest change happened over Christmas 2024, I woke during the night with a hot flush, I hadn’t had one in such a long time and was actually annoyed that they had returned again. However when I put out the supplements the following morning, I realised one of them had run out and I hadn’t had it for a few days. Here was my answer, I added that back in and bye bye to the hot sweats again.
