Sharing My Story: Supporting My Perimenopause Journey Naturally

Last Saturday I had the privilege of speaking at a natural health event and sharing something very personal, my journey through perimenopause and how I’ve been supporting my body naturally.
Standing up and talking about it felt important, because I know so many women are quietly going through similar changes.
Sometimes we don’t talk about it. Sometimes we just push through and assume we’re tired, stressed, or simply “not ourselves”.
For me, sharing my story felt like opening the door to a conversation that more women deserve to have.
When I Started Noticing Changes
A while ago I started noticing things didn’t feel quite right.
I was waking up in the night with hot sweats, struggling with a foggy head during the day, and feeling far more emotional and anxious than usual. Some days I simply didn’t feel like myself.
At first, I didn’t really connect all the dots. Life is busy and it’s easy to brush things aside and carry on.
But over time I realised my body was asking for more support and a little more care.
Finding Something That Helped
Supporting my health naturally has always been important to me, so I started looking at ways I could gently support my body during this stage of life.
That’s when I came across doTERRA’s Phytoestrogen Complex, a plant-based supplement designed to support women through this time of change.
I decided to try it and over time I really noticed a difference.
My sleep improved, the night sweats settled, and my emotions felt more balanced. The foggy head that had been bothering me started to lift too.
It felt like my body was coming back into balance.
A Realisation I Didn’t Expect
There was a moment that really showed me how much support my body had been getting.
At one point I had to stop taking the supplement for a few weeks due to a purity sourcing issue. I didn’t think it would make much difference but quite quickly I noticed things shifting again. My emotions felt overwhelming, sleep became unsettled, and I just didn’t feel quite like myself.
It was a real reminder of how much my body had been benefiting from that extra support.
Once I started taking it again, things gradually settled and I began feeling more balanced again.
Supporting Myself in Other Ways Too
Of course, supplements are only one part of how I look after myself.
During this time I’ve also become much more mindful about things like:
Taking time to rest
Looking after my emotional wellbeing
Supporting my body with good nutrition
Using essential oils to help with relaxation and balance
It’s about creating a lifestyle that supports my body rather than pushing through exhaustion.
Why I Shared My Story
Speaking at the event last weekend reminded me how powerful it is when women share their experiences.
When I finished talking, several women came up to say they recognised the feelings I described.
That’s exactly why I wanted to speak because sometimes just hearing someone say “I’ve felt that too” can be incredibly reassuring.
If you’re going through changes and wondering what’s happening in your body, please know you’re not alone.
There are gentle, natural ways to support yourself and sometimes the first step is simply starting the conversation.
Let’s Keep the Conversation Going
Perimenopause is a journey that many of us are navigating, often quietly. The more we talk about it, the more we support each other.
If you’d like to learn more about the natural approaches that have helped me, or if you simply want to connect with other women on a similar path, I’d love to hear from you.
Sometimes sharing experiences, asking questions, or just knowing someone else understands can make all the difference.
